High Speed Access To My Brain Pre-Order Begins Today!

Gainesville, FL – Paper + Plastick Records is proud to announce that the new REHASHER album will be added to the labels growing catalog of vinyl. High Speed Access To My Brain can be pre-ordered beginning today exclusively at www.paperandplastick.com, where fans can also get a taste of the new album by downloading the recently released P+P summer sampler, containing the track “Turn Around.”

The Gainesville punk band is lead by guitarist/vocalist Roger Manganelli, P+P label owner Vinnie Fiorello’s band mate in Less Than Jake, and boasts members from local punk bands Army of Ponch, Bullets To Broadway and Savage Brewtality. The band self-recorded their sophomore album at Manganelli’s own Moathouse Studios, and self-released the CD on their Moathouse Records, which will be released on vinyl via Paper + Plastick on September 11th.

“Rehasher are a group of friends of mine from Gainesville that happen to also make great melodic punk,” says Fiorello. “This record is them on their ‘A’ game and is hands down, flat-out amazing… and I’m not just saying that because one of the dudes sleeps 15 feet away from me six months a year.”

1. Turn Around
2. 5 Extra Long Miles
3. My Compass Must Be Broken
4. No Eye In Team

The band formed in 2002 as an excuse for a group of friends to hang out and play music, and resulted in the 2004 release of Off Key Melodies via No Idea Records. PunkNews.org lauded the album, and stated “The all-star lineup comes through and ignites simplistic three-chord punk rock via a vigorous charge,” and AbsolutePunk, which commented, “ brings back the days of Lagwagon and NOFX-style punk.”

Due to the members’ other musical endeavors, touring is difficult, but fans will be able to catch what is undoubtedly going to be an unforgettable live show at this year’s edition of The Fest, happening in Gainesville from Oct 30 – Nov 1.

Who knew today was gonna be the day Oasis calls it quits

Its never been a secret that Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher, the brother duo of Oasis, couldn’t stand each other, and perhaps had one of the greats ongoing band feuds. We get it, they’re brothers, they don’t get along, but that was part of the genius that was Oasis… keyword being WAS.

A few hours ago, this statement was released at http://www.oasisinet.com/NewsBlogs.aspx

A STATEMENT FROM NOEL
28 August 2009

“It’s with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

“Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan.”

If only to have been on a fly in that room. The brothers have had very public arguments before, but neither has ever left the band. In fact, it was only a few short days ago that Liam was forced to defend his actions for not performing at the V festival in the UK and lay breakup rumors to rest.

LIAM ON V FESTIVAL
25 August 2009

As many of you may be aware, Liam took to his private Twitter page yesterday to apologise for Oasis not being able to play at Sunday’s V Festival and quash tabloid trash about it being the last ever Oasis UK gig:

“The voice may of disappeared but I’m still here.1st things first V I’m gutted your gutted,I’m sorry what can I say fuck all at the moment.

“Secondly, respect to those bands who covered Oasis last night, even though I might of given some of you shit in the past…

“Finally reports in smartarses column about Oasis last british gig ever. The kids talking out his arse, I mean rkids, bware of darkness. LG”

V Festival was always scheduled as the last UK gig for this ‘Dig Out Your Soul’ World Tour. Oasis will complete the rest of the world tour in Europe and then take some well-earned time off before they begin to think about the next album and tour.

Obviously things must have taken a drastic change in the past three days or that “Kid, was not talking out his arse”.

Oasis may not be as relevant as they were in the 90s however, their music influence scores of American bands and was a driving force of the Britishpop movement.

At least I will always have my ‘Wonderwall’.

Tell us what you think, is Oasis really done?

Gallows return to North America Supporting AFI and Flogging Molly

GALLOWS RETURN TO NORTH AMERICA FOR SUPPORT TOURS WITH AFI AND FLOGGING MOLLY IN OCTOBER

SIRE RECORDS DEBUT, GREY BRITAIN, OUT NOW

Burbank, CA – Fresh off their earth scorching appearance on this summer’s Vans Warped tour, UK hardcore band GALLOWS will return to North America in October to hit the road with AFI in the U.S. and Flogging Molly in Canada. The tours will criss-cross the continent from October 2nd through the 29th.  Consider yourself warned:
“A Gallows concert is a demolition derby with no rules…volatility and unpredictability.” – Inked Magazine
“[Warped Tour’s] best set of the day…The British quintet plays a thrilling and venomous take on hard core…Frank Carter, a sinewy redhead with a sneer equal to that of Sex Pistols’ frontman John Lydon. – The Los Angeles Times
GALLOWS will hit the road in support of Grey Britain, their second full-length album and U.S. debut on Sire Records, which was released this past May 5th, 2009 and made an immediate and indelible impression:
“Gallows’ ‘Grey Britain,’  is a savage kick to the cranium – full of passion, fury and undeniable punk power.” – Guitar Edge Magazine
“’Grey Britain’ harbors an impressive amount of vitriol within its grooves…there’s a grimy rage coating the proceedings that’s universal in appeal…feels like the end credits have just rolled to a wakeup call in widescreen.”Decibel Magazine
“Right now, Gallows is the only British band that matters.” – Aquarian Weekly
The 13-song strong album was recorded at London’s RAK studios with producer Garth ‘GGGarth’ Richardson (Rise Against, Rage Against The Machine) and is even more bloody, brutal, and pissed-off with the current Home Counties conditions than the band’s critically revered 2006 debut Orchestra of Wolves. That may be difficult to believe…until you hear this album and witness the band’s absolutely peerless pure adrenaline-fuelled live sonic/physical attack. GALLOWS may well be the last truly unpredictable and dangerous live working band on the planet.  See for yourself. Confirmed tour dates are listed below.
GALLOWS formed in 2005 and immediately set the UK on fire with their politically charged lyrical perspective and full-on, non-stop commitment to getting the message across by any means necessary. In 2007, GALLOWS won the Kerrang! Magazine Award for Best British Newcomer. The single from their debut album In The Belly Of The Shark, appears on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock game. Our advice to you: Don’t miss the opportunity to see GALLOWS live. No one comes close.

NEW ALBUM FREE

‘ARTWORK’ OUT AUGUST 31 ON REPRISE RECORDS

Burbank, CA – On Monday August 31st THE USED will rock the Twitter-sphere with the FIRST EVER 24-hour tweet-for-ticket album listening party for fans.  The admission? ONE TWEET GETS YOU IN. Built by Culture Jam Labs and Warner Bros Records, the virtual listening party for Artwork, the new album from The Used, will give fans the chance to stream the entire album in exchange for one tweet on the release date.  The listening party will be hosted exclusively on http://twitter.theused.net/.
Fans can enter this exclusive album listening party by turning their social Twitter updates into digital currency – essentially purchasing a ticket to the event with one tweet by tweeting the suggested message, “You can listen to the new @wearetheused album #Artwork today for 24 hours only at http://twitter.theused.net/. RIP DJ AM – Adam Goldstein, DJ AM age 36, has been found dead in NYC

It first was seen on Twitter, RIP DJ AM, but we have all seen so many RIP hoaxes that they have all become unreliable, and almost a joke.As DJ AMs fans flocked to his Twitter page to receive confirmation he was ok, they saw that there had not been an update in 3 days.  Even more unsettling was his last tweet:,

@DJ_AM “New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems.”

We are very sad to report that Law enforcement has discovered Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, dead in his New York City apartment. This news has also been confirmed by multiple sources including the AP, New York Post and close friends of DJ AM via Twitter: @DJKevinScott To all my friends calling & texting me: unfortunately, it is true about AM. RIP Adam Goldstein, you were a TRUE friend.

As we reported earlier today, the last tweet from Goldstein has fueled theories about his demise. There have also been reports that drug paraphernalia (MSN) including a crack pipe  and prescription drugs (The Huffinton Post) have been found at in the apartment.

Many fans find this unbelievable, as DJ AM has reportedly been drug free.

If you are unfamiliar with the DJ scene, you may remember the name because Goldstein along with Travis Barker, survived a plane crash that killed four other people in South Carolina almost a year ago.

The New York Post seems to be most up to date on what is taking place with this breaking news.

We will also update you as more press is released.

Nirvana’s Legendary Never-Before-Released 1992 Reading Concert Set to Debut in November

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 28 — “Nirvana headlining at Reading in 1992 was something you had to see, and if you didn’t see it then it was something you pretended you saw.”
– Kerrang (October 2003)

“The staggering energy and intensity radiating from the stage never let up… Cobain’s ravaged pop songs coming off like some dream marriage of the Sex Pistols and the Beatles, borne on bracing waves of distorted guitar noise.”– Rolling Stone (October 29, 1992)

Ranked #1 in Kerrang Magazine’s “100 Gigs That Shook The World” and voted as “Nirvana’s #1 Greatest Moment” by fans in an NME poll, Nirvana’s historic August 30, 1992 headlining appearance at the UK’s Reading Festival is one of the most bootlegged concerts in the annals of rock’n'roll. Now, fans will have an opportunity to own a pristine copy of that entire performance — color-corrected video from the original film with audio sourced from the original multi-track masters. Nirvana Live At Reading will be issued in a limited edition CD+DVD Deluxe Edition as well as DVD-only, CD-only configurations on November 3, 2009, followed by a 2 LP version on November 17, 2009.

While the show’s centerpiece was a performance of nearly the entire Nevermind tracklist, also noteworthy were early performances of three as yet unrecorded songs which wouldn’t be released until 2 years later on In Utero: “All Apologies,” “Dumb,” and in its first ever public performance, “tourette’s.” The career-spanning setlist also reached back to the band’s 1989 Sub Pop debut album, Bleach, for “Blew,” “About A Girl,” “School,” “Negative Creep” and first single “Love Buzz,” and even further back to the mid-’80s for “Spank Thru.” Other songs from the Reading set would appear in studio form on the Incesticide compilation later in the year: “Aneurysm,” “Been A Son” and “Sliver.” Additionally, the band played a pair of beloved covers by two bands that helped shape the formative Nirvana sound — “The Money Will Roll Right In” by Fang and “D-7″ by The Wipers.

Only 2 of the 25 performances on the DVD have ever been released before.
