MARIAH CAREY
THE “ANGELS ADVOCATE” TOUR
Saturday, February 20
(Phoenix, AZ) – For Mariah Carey’s legions of North American fans, the long wait is over, as the international superstar announces her first major tour in more than three years in support of her #1 R&B album, MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL. The “Angels Advocate” Tour stops at Dodge Theatre in Phoenix Saturday, February 20, 2010 for a 8:00 p.m. performance.
The 8-week, 19-city “Angels Advocate” Tour is the first major tour by the most successful female recording artist in history since the “Adventures of Mimi: The Voice, The Hits, The Tour” of August through October 2006. The opening act on the “Angels Advocate” Tour will be RydazNrtist, a new R&B group signed to Nick Cannon’s NCredible Entertainment.
MEMOIRS OF AN IMPERFECT ANGEL, Mariah Carey’s 12th studio album, follows her multi-platinum E=MC2 (2008), and her worldwide 10 million selling The Emancipation Of Mimi (2005). The Emancipation Of Mimi generated three Grammy awards (including Best Contemporary R&B Album), two #1 singles, and countless more honors during its 18-month chart stay. Soundscan’s biggest-selling album of 2005, Mimi featured “We Belong Together” (Grammy winner for Best Female R&B Vocal and Best R&B Song) and “Don’t Forget About Us,” Mariah’s 16th and 17th #1 career singles respectively. Three years later, “Touch My Body” (from E=MC2) became her 18th #1 Hot 100 hit, surpassing Elvis Presley’s previous record of 17 #1 Hot 100 Hits. Mariah is now positioned as the only active recording artist in the 50 years of the Hot 100 (which began in 1958) with the potential to surpass the Beatles’ all-time high of 20 #1 hits. The success of E=MC2 brought total sales of Mariah’s albums, singles and videos to more than 175 million worldwide, distancing her even further from the pack as the top-selling female recording artist in history.

Weezer come to Phoenix January 15!

WEEZER
FRIday, JANUARY 15

(Phoenix, AZ) – Rocks most loveable outsiders, Weezer, bring their alt-rock to Dodge Theatre January 15 at 8:00 p.m. in support of the bands November 3 release Raditude.
With its rollicking communal spirit Raditude upends any expectations audiences may have of Weezer, amplifying their trademarks to a dizzying degree – the pop hooks dig deeper, the rock hits so hard it bruises – but the group subverts these signatures with a sly hand while pushing boldly into new territory. Within these 10 songs lie boundless possibilities and ceaseless excitement, proof that Weezer remains a band that defies easy summations and can never be taken for granted, a band who has grown as they’ve opened their horizons.
Raditude caps off a remarkable decade that saw Weezer reassert its position as one of the biggest, best rock bands in the world while also seeing their influence echo through a generation who absorbed the sound and feel of the group’s two classic ‘90s albums. Weezer emerged on the music scene in 1994 with their self-titled double-platinum debut album, dubbed The Blue Album featuring such era-defining hits as “Undone—The Sweater Song” and “Buddy Holly”. The bands much-awaited sophomore album Pinkerton (1996) — “El Scorcho”, “The Good Life”, and “Pink Triangle”— went gold in record sales and has been a steady seller since.
Weezer refused to ride on those past glories when they returned in 2001 with The Green Album, sounding vigorous on the hits “Hash Pipe” and “Island in the Sun.” The hard, heavy Maladroit, featuring “Dope Nose” and “Keep Fishin’,” followed in 2002. Three years later, Weezer released Make Believe in 2005, an album highlighted by “Beverly Hills,” their first single to climb into the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100. The Red Album arrived in 2008 along with the single “Pork and Beans” whose YouTube-satirizing video won Weezer their first Grammy.

Duo Richard Marx & Matt Scannell On Sale 8/17
PHOENIX, AZ – Sanderson Music Series presents an acoustic evening of legendary pop star Richard Marx and Vertical Horizon front man Matt Scannell at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 10th at the intimate Celebrity Theatre. Tickets ($40 and $50) go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 17th at Celebrity Theatre or online at www.celebritytheatre.com. To charge by phone, call 602-267-1600 ext.1. All tickets are subject to a surcharge.
Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/producer Richard Marx and Vertical Horizon lead singer/songwriter/producer Matt Scannell are a musical match made in acoustic heaven. Both platinum-selling vocalists and guitarists have had their own successes throughout their careers. Now the talented duo has teamed up to banter and bang out hit after hit and the stories behind them in support of their new CD aptly titled, “Duo.” The 10-song collection features a brand new song they wrote together (”Always On Your Mind”), as well as reinventions of mega-hits “Hazard,” “Everything You Want,” “Endless Summer Nights” and more.
Marx started out as a soft rock, adult contemporary artist, but has proven that, despite being known for his soft ballads, he has enough edge to veer into the classic rock genre. Well-known for his hit songs in the ’90s, such as “Endless Summer Nights,” “Right Here Waiting” and “Should Have Known Better,” he was the first solo artist to have seven songs hit the top five on U.S. charts.
The very successful Vertical Horizon faced some highs and lows, especially when they lost their record deal, but with the release of “Go,” they are reviving themselves. “Burning the Days,” the group’s first new project after a five-year hiatus, is currently set for release on September 22, 2009.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Celebrity Theatre is conveniently located on 32nd St., just 4 blocks south of the Loop 202 freeway, in Phoenix.

AUDIENCES FLIP FOR TOBY KEITH & TRACE ADKINS ENCORE
CATCH THE America’s Toughest Tour IN PHOENIX
FRIDAY, AUGUST 14
(Phoenix, AZ) – When superstar Toby Keith tapped Trace Adkins for his current “America’s Toughest Tour” he created what may be the summer’s biggest and strongest lineup literally and figuratively. But nothing could have prepared the two for the reaction they’ve been getting when Toby brings Trace back out on stage for an encore performance of Keith’s monster hit “Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue (The Angry American).”
The natural connection between the two artists is obvious to the crowds and, in retrospect, to Toby as well. “We came from the same honky-tonk family,” Keith recently told the Palm Beach Post. “It’s amazing we had to wait this long to work together.”
Keith has been bringing Adkins out for the explosive performance each night of the tour, which stops at Cricket Wireless Pavilion in Phoenix on August 14 at 7:00PM. Capacity crowds and critical raves have been hallmarks of Toby’s live show this year, as in years past. But live performances are only a part of Toby Keith’s vast and successful endeavors.
As a recording artist, he recently released the single “American Ride,” the title track from a new studio album due Oct. 13. One of the fastest rising songs of his career, the tune was the Most Added song of the week this week on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart.
Toby was recently named the No. 4 all-genre album seller of the decade by Yahoo!, and is once again one of Forbes’ top earning musicians in the world. Beyond music, Keith has also starred in two successful major motion pictures, owns a chain of restaurants as well as his own record label, and recently launched his own clothing line.
