Pop Evil has toured consistently since the release of their first full-length album, Lipstick on the Mirror with a combination of headline dates and “Special Guest” support with Puddle of Mudd, Tesla, Theory of a Deadman, P.O.D. and Saliva. Named as one of iTunes “Top New Artists of ’08,” Pop Evil continues their march across America and the airwaves.
Vayden, the Phoenix based hi-energy, four piece rock/alt/metal band is a fresh taste of modern rock, based on the timeless foundations of the genre. Soulful vocals, heavy, yet melodic guitars and a tight, inventive rhythm section create the unique genetic make-up of Vayden’s sound. Vayden has opened for Matchbox 20, Alien Ant Farm, Slightly Stoopid, 30 Seconds to Mars, King X and Three Days Grace.
Tongue Dried Sun (TDS) has re-emerged back onto the music scene after a three year hiatus. TDS has just finished up a brand new album titled Zero Hour with world renowned producer Dave Jerden and Producer/Engineer Bryan Carlstrom(Alice in Chains, Janes Addiction, Offspring, etc…). TDS has shared the stage with the likes of Journey, Collective Soul, Jimmy Eat World, Alice Cooper, The Nuge, David Lee Roth and others. TDS has come back with one main objective; to help bring back great Rock music.
Wensday had her coming out party during the 2006 Alice Coopers Christmas Pudding event. Sharing a bill with Don Felder, Stephen Stills and pop metal band Tesla, Wensday moved the crowd with her searing rendition of “Only Women Bleed,” the classic ballad Cooper wrote with longtime collaborator and legendary guitarist Dick Wagner. A huge fan of Wensday’s from the moment he first heard her sing, Wagner produced, wrote, co-wrote and played guitar on all 13 tracks of her debut album Torch Rock.
Telescope is a four-piece alternative rock band from Arizona. Their music is a product of the members’ diverse musical influences. The band draws from a number of artists that inspire them, but are most often compared to bands like Snow Patrol, Lifehouse, Collective Soul and Our Lady Peace. The four-piece group has been playing together since 2002 after brothers Seth and Jason Holland met up with drummer Seth Johnson, and later multi-instrumentalist Mike Seitz. After only a few rehearsals, the four decided this was the band they had been longing to put their energy and efforts into.
Red Letter Drive won the coveted spot to play the Circle K Tempe Music Festival Main Stage after winning The Arizona State Battle of the Bands competition that was held during the ASU Homecoming last fall. Red Letter Drive is composed of 4 dedicated guys from the Phoenix area with a common passion for both their relationship with Christ and music. After years as worship leaders and members of local church City of Grace’s youth worship band these four got together to start playing some fun cover songs. After line up changes, and countless song writing rehearsals Red Letter Drive is just starting to show their true potential, and hope to achieve their goal of producing music with a positive message that still can put a smile on your face.
Tempe Beach Park is located at the northwest corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue in downtown Tempe, AZ. For more information about the 2009 Circle K Tempe Music Festival, please visit http://www.tempemusicfestival.com/ or call the information hotline at (480) 970-FEST (3378).

VALLEY STUDENT BANDS COMPETE FOR VIEWER VOTES WINNERS TO PLAY THE TEMPE MUSIC FESTIVAL !
The Circle K Tempe Music Festival and SRP’s search for the best garage band in Arizona is underway. Based on online polling at AZ Central, Collegetimes.com and judged live performances at Desert Ridge Marketplace and Tempe Marketplace, nine local high school and college garage bands have been chosen to advance to the next stage of the competition – playing in their very own American Idol-like interactive television show. The high school bands moving on are Black Antex, Fallen Adrift, Six Second Revival and The Turnarounds. The college bands moving on are The Season Premiere, The Dorsets, London Airspace, Captain Squeegee and Race You There.
All nine bands will perform this Sunday, March 15 from noon to 6p.m. at Alice Cooperstown for a live studio audience, celebrity judges and Cox Communications, who will be taping the entire program.
After the taping, the show – “Cox Rox” – will air on Cox7 on the following dates and times:
· Monday, March 23 at 8 p.m., Cox cable channel 7
· Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m., Cox cable channel 7
· Saturday, March 28 at 9 p.m., Cox cable channel 7
· Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m., Cox cable channel 7
While watching the competition, viewers will get a chance to vote for their favorites, courtesy of Cox’s interACTIVE™ technology. As each band plays, the viewer will be asked to vote for his or her favorite by pressing a button on the remote control.
After all four “Cox Rox” broadcasts, the votes will be tallied and winners will be determined, all of whom will get the chance to perform at the Circle K Tempe Music Festival, which is April 3 and 4 at Tempe Beach Park. Along with the chance to open for the event headliners on Friday and Saturday, the top high school and the top college band will also receive scholarships from SRP, tickets to the festival, a Dillard’s shopping spree and other prizes.

Chart-Topping Band’s First Studio Album
In Four Years Set For April 14th Release
On April 14th, Dave Matthews Band returns with its first studio album in four years – and they’ll celebrate with a show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden that evening. The date will mark the beginning of the band’s spring tour, which will include a stop at Cricket Wireless Pavilion for a performance on Wednesday, May 6th. Dave Matthews Band fans will be treated to the group’s first-ever live performances of songs from the new album. The show will begin at 7:00pm with special guests The Avett Brothers. Tickets will go on-sale Saturday, January 17 at 10am.
The band’s yet-to-be-titled album is being produced by Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance) and will be released by RCA Records. The record is the follow-up to 2005’s Stand Up, the fourth consecutive Dave Matthews Band studio album to enter The Billboard 200 at No. 1. Formed in Virginia in the early 1990’s, Dave Matthews Band has sold a collective 35 million units (CD and DVD combined). With over 15 million tickets sold, the group has been named the top-drawing American band in the world by Billboard.
“Their set delivered the goods at Rothbury, and few would argue they didn’t make the festival their own,” said The Detroit News of Dave Matthews Band’s headlining performance at last summer’s first-ever Rothbury festival. The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette praised the group’s show there as “nothing short of inspired and inspiring” while The Oklahoman said: “this is a band that stretches out and thrives in the open air and under the stars.” “Mr. Matthews’ trade is to stir up a mélange of approaches – from rock and folksy pop to bluegrass and smooth jazz – to make doubt positive, make loss a gain, and make depression a celebration,” observed The Dallas Morning News.
Dave Matthews Band is Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar) and Boyd Tinsley (violin). Saxophonist LeRoi Moore, the fifth original founding member, passed away during the band’s summer 2008 tour. Joining the group on the road this spring will be Tim Reynolds on guitar, Rashawn Ross on trumpet and Jeff Coffin on saxophone. They are also featured on the new album.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Live Nation is very proud to present
MESA ARTS CENTER
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7
Bryan Adams continues his highly successful solo-acoustic concert tour in select U.S. cities this winter. The intimate concert will come to Mesa to perform at Ikeda Theater on Sunday, December 7. The show will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets will go on sale this Monday, October 6 at 10am.
Adams has interspersed these special sold-out performances in between stadium dates in Europe and the U.S., and this new spin on his classic hits has been met with rave reviews from critics and fans alike:
“Armed only with a small array of acoustic guitars, Adams packed enthusiastic fans — sometimes a bit too enthusiastic — into the intimate Sheldon for a great night of music and insight.” St. Louis Post Dispatch
“Adams, 48, was utterly comfortable, interacting with the fans, joking about his capo (a device clamped onto the guitar strings to raise its pitch), inviting women from the upper balcony to sit in two of the few empty seats in the house (they took him up on it), handing out picks, quips, compliments and gratitude.” Columbus Post Dispatch
“They sang along with the ever-so-familiar choruses, filled in vocal gaps he left for them, clapped the missing drum parts, hummed the missing solos, and roared their approval after every offering, right up to a long and hearty standing ovation after ‘Run To You’.” Toronto Star
“Threading hits with new material, the soundtrack-singer and celebrity-portrait shooter (the stage design consisted of six towering lighting stands), succeeded in transferring his emotional ballads and crafted, sing-along rock to a mature setting.” Globe and Mail.
The singer/songwriter has been touring the world in support of his new album 11, and is currently on tour in Europe and the U.K. As Canada’s best known ambassador, Bryan Adams has spent the last three decades making music history. He has sold over 65 million records, toured six continents and achieved #1 status in over 40 countries around the world. With hits like, “Cuts Like A Knife”, “Summer of ‘69″, “Kids Wanna Rock”, “Can’t Stop This Thing We’ve Started”, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”, “Open Road” and most recently “Thought I’d Seen Everything”, Adams status as one of the great songwriter’s of our time, has been solidified. He has been awarded the Order of Canada and in 2006, was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the Juno Awards in Halifax. He has been nominated for Academy Awards, Golden Globes and Grammy’s and last year his handprint was added to the Wembley Square of Fame in celebration of his 25th show at the famed stadium.Bryan’s outstanding live concerts have established him as one of the world’s best rock singers, performing over 120 concerts a year. The show at the Ikeda Theater provides a rare opportunity for fans to see Adams as they’ve never seen him before.
